Day 4

Hola. HOLA . hola. Hola. Translation - Hello, Hi, Hey, Hello! We could only upload 5 pictures to this page, so these are a few shots of our flat and the street below. We're located in downtown Recoleta. Parks, shopping centers, bars and everything else is a stonesthrow from our front door. The Recoleta Cemetery, one of the more impressive destinations in all of Buenos Aires, is the next block over. There is also a weekly fair on the nearby green with hundreds of local artists, vendors and musicians. So... they speak Spanish, we don't. Not for lack of effort, but Spanish has been kicking our asses. After buying cell phones the second day we realized that we had told the salesmen we were two female professors from North American arriving tomorrow... these were the mistakes we actually realized. He laughed, some are more impatient. As far as getting acclimated to the area, we have walked several miles in each direction and are getting a solid grasp on our neighborhood. TODAY was the first day of class. Back to school. We are taking the course with ten other students from the UK, Ireland, Costa Rica, the US etc. and an Argentinian professor who lives up to the name of her country (she's hot, like wicked bangin'). The structure of the course is very hands on. Each of us will be teaching hour long grammar and vocabulary lessons to native Spanish speakers beginning this Thursday and Friday. We are happy, healthy and looking really, really ridiculously good.

Until next time - PALABRA A TU MADRE
